Newcastle Greyhound Stadium has been proud to host live greyhound racing for over 89 years. We’ve had the pleasure of hosting the most prominent greyhound event “The All England Cup” for many years and with this upcoming event looking to be the largest to date it’s a great time to visit Newcastle Greyhound Stadium.
Our stadium holds two bars, downstairs is the William Hill Lounge offering refreshments, hot food and snacks with direct access to our outdoor viewing area, upstairs we have Winalotz bar with a wide range of drinks and tote betting service with views of the course and access to the terracing.
Gemz Restaurant is located on the same floor as our upstairs bar offering a 3 course meal with table betting and drink service offering the best possible views to cheer your dog to victory. (Gemz Restaurant must be booked in advance)

Race days are Tuesday, Wednesday (morning), Thursday and Saturday (afternoon and evening). Admission is £5.00 on a Tuesday and Thursday, £6.00 on a Saturday evening and free on a Wednesday and Saturday afternoon
The minimum stake for this bet is £1. One selects a dog from the field. This can be on any dog at any race meeting. The betting slip can be denoted with the dog’s race card number, or the dogs name (and if at another course, the name of the course), or it can be marked as the ‘favourite’, where the dog is not nominated but the bet is placed on whichever dog is favourite (has the largest amount of money put into the pool) at the start of the race. This will, obviously, have the lowest payout (since the pool will be shared with the largest number of winners) but the assumption is that if others have bet on it, it must have a good chance of winning.
Please note there are NO taxi ranks at the Stadium, but we have a FREE telephone line to LA Taxis in our foyer area, next to reception. We do recommend that you pre-arrange your transport home, prior to visiting us as local firms do get extremely busy at weekends.
